James M. Rotsart, R.Ph.
Executive Vice President
Since joining Adheris in 1994 as Senior Vice President, Jim has developed business both with the retail pharmacy industry and with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
He brings over 20 years of experience as a senior executive for leading pharmacy chains, and as a supplier to the retail pharmacy industry. He held the position of Senior Vice President, Professional Operations, at D.S. Revco , Inc.; and Vice President of Pharmacy Operations at Brooks Drug, Inc., two of the largest U.S. retail pharmacy chains.
In addition to his experience at Revco and Brooks Drug, Jim spent 10 years at CVS, Inc., serving as Divisional Merchandise Manager/Pharmaceuticals.
Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate of the role the pharmacist plays in distributing health-related educational literature to patients in the local community.
Jim is a Registered Pharmacist, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. |

Nicholas Leighton
Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Nick joined Adheris in 1996, bringing extensive knowledge and experience in both computer hardware and software. He has been instrumental in the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the current Adheris compliance system.
Before joining Adheris, Nick worked for Sequent Computer Systems as a Senior UNIX Consultant.Prior to this appointment, he worked for the U.S. Department of Defense, managing a variety of projects.
Nick received his Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Merrimack College. |

Laleh Varasteh, R.Ph., M.S.F.
Vice President, Clinical Pharmacy Programs
Laleh oversees the Adheris Research and Development Committee, researching new ideas and approaches to improve the effectiveness of adherence programs, submitting and presenting Adheris research at medical and pharmaceutical conferences, and overseeing our continuing education programs for client pharmacists. Laleh also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeastern University Bouve College of Health Sciences and as Adjunct Instructor in Clinical Pharmacy at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston and as such is a preceptor for Pharm.D. students from both schools.
Before joining Adheris, Laleh worked in several areas of pharmacy practice, including retail, hospital and mail order. She spent a number of years working at the world-renowned McLean Hospital, an inpatient psychiatric facility. While at McLean, she focused on patient education and care as well as investigational research into new drug treatments in the psychiatric market.
Laleh holds her Master of Science degree in Finance from Boston College and her B.S. in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.

Alex Pedan, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President, Analytical Services
Alex is a biostatistician who brings nearly 20 years of experience analyzing medical and claims data to Adheris. Before coming to Adheris, Alex designed and analyzed cohort and case-control studies for PharMetrics, Inc., including studies of compliance and persistence. He has also held positions at Vasca, Inc.; Genome Therapeutics Corp.; and Beth Israel and Brigham & Women’s Hospitals in Boston, where he analyzed numerous clinical trials and epidemiologic studies.
In addition, Alex has worked in biostatistical consulting for many years, and has published more than 20 articles in a variety of medical and scientific journals.
Before entering biostatistics, Alex was a research scientist in the area of statistical physics. He received a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the Institute for Low Temperature Physics in Kharkov, U.S.S.R. He also holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Kharkov University, U.S.S.R.
